Degrassi; The Next Generation is a teen drama show about a bunch of kids in Degrassi Community School. In Degrassi you see teens dealing with all kinds of problems, and as the cast is getting older, the topics are getting more and more serious.

Cassie was cast as Manny Santos, while she first auditioned for the part of Liberty. The casting directors actually liked her better as a new character, Manny. And I must say, I think it's the best choise ever made!

As a main character, Manny's had to deal with some pretty intense issues.

Getting back with Craig (yet again)
dealing with anorexia (extreme dieting herself and standing by her friend who suffers from it)

Season 6:
Manny's Spirit Squad captain, has to deal with Darcy, who doesn't want a teen mom as a cheerleader on Spirit Squad (Mia Jones)
Making some sexy photo's to raise money for the Spirit Squad. she quits before it get's to far, but she sees Darcy going on to even more sexy pics!
Drug-addiction. (Craig's back and is addicted to cocain)
breaking up with craig!
throws a brithday party for Liberty, ending with J.T. being stabbed to death!
going back home after the incident, and starts dating a boy from the "enemy" school! all friends turn against her!

Season 7:
Peter, Darcy and Manny go skiing, but Darcy get's raped. Manny stands by and tries to help Darcy. she finds Darcy in the showers, with her wrists cut open!
getting accused of being a racist (she's no racist at all) Damien (ex-boyfriend) clears all of it up!
Manny and Jay get together on her 18th birthday! First to piss of her parents and eventually even get engaged for a little while!
when Damien (now Emma's boyfriend) and Liberty hook up, she tries to get things all right, but it comes out and Damien and Emma break up

season 8:
Manny, Emma and Liberty made it to Smithdale Uni! they get to share a room with a boy, Kelly!
She crushes on Kelly shortly!

Degrassi Goes Hollywood: manny goes after a part in the new Jason Mewes film. She learns a great deal while on her way to LA and get's back together with Jay
